Machine learning is a branch of artificial intelligence that focuses on developing algorithms and statistical models that enable computer systems to improve their performance on a specific task over time. In other words, it is a set of techniques and methods that enable computers to learn from data, without being explicitly programmed.
The basic idea behind machine learning is to provide computers with the ability to learn from data, identify patterns, and make predictions or decisions based on that learning. This is done by providing a computer with a set of training data, which it uses to learn a model or algorithm that can be applied to new data.
There are three main types of machine learning: supervised learning, unsupervised learning, and reinforcement learning.
Supervised learning involves training a model using labeled data, where the desired output is known for each input. The goal is to learn a mapping function that can predict the output for new inputs.
Unsupervised learning involves training a model on unlabeled data, where the goal is to discover hidden patterns or structure in the data.
